Iran Says It Destroyed U.S. Missile Defense Radar in UAE
The IRGC said a precision missile obliterated a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) radar installation located in Al-Ruwais, the news agency reported, citing the paramilitary force directly.
In a second, simultaneous operation, Iranian forces said they struck a U.S. carrier group refueling ship with a combination of drone and missile fire approximately 700 kilometers off the southeastern Iranian port city of Chabahar, rendering the vessel "non-operational."
The news agency further reported that IRGC anti-submarine missile units have been actively tracking the U.S. naval fleet across the broader region, though no additional operational details were disclosed.
Both strikes form part of what Iran has branded "Operation True Promise 4" — a retaliatory campaign launched in direct response to the joint U.S.-Israeli offensive that killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, several senior officials, and more than 100 civilians in strikes carried out Saturday.
The IRGC has announced multiple consecutive waves of attacks targeting American and Israeli military assets across the region, with reported hits on bases in Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.
U.S. Central Command has not confirmed any of Iran's claims.
